For the love of God, don't buy fish now

I will not add fish to the world I've created since I'm leaving tomorrow for four days and the last time I was gone, I returned to 4 fish less,
1 body -the long obvious one- had been retrieved.
I do not trust The Man with the care of fish, especially newcomers.
I suspect that the three Cory cats that have died so far have all died of fear. I witnessed one incident myself where even I was a bit distraught at the vindictive Godzilla-like prowl of the hence known serpent-fish. Cory cats need to be assimilated slowly into a community. Once he feels safe, he will jolly about with ADD in his merry own way and do a proper cleaning all the while
Also, I am contemplating a mate for my Bronze Cory. He's getting old and although he has befriended the Albinos -more or less-, I feel that he is yearning for companionship.
The only problem is I have a hard time telling the sex of my Bronze Cory, whom I tenderly refer to as 'it'.
And of course, a few Tanichthys -two females and a male-to join the lone one already there.
He has grown unusually independant and comfortable as a loner, going from tribe to tribe, the neons, the harlequins, trying to be everyone's friend but no ties. I wonder how he will take three more of his kin all at once. We'll see.
So you see, that's another reason not to buy fish (other than probably saving their lives), is that I want to see them prosper and grow and discover their new world. I want to see it happen.
I want them to feel at home.
