The Corydoras has been sick for a little while now.
His skin is pale; no lustre to the bronze. His eyes are bulging out and he has growths on his body. It is a bacterial infection or possible water intolerance compounded by a fungal infection. I changed the charcoal and ammonia rocks in the filter. The sponge remains intact. I also rid the filter of its accumulated matter. I took out about 20% of the water and I am slowly replacing it with treated tap water. I have been told to add 1/2 teaspoon of un-iodized salt and to monitor. If that doesn't work, then I can get ''medication'' from the pet store lady. She was adamant that they are not anti-biotics since she hasn't sold those for years. Only vets can sell those.
Who's gonna monitor the Corydoras while I'm gone ?
